Grabenhalle, the cultural centre for everyone for 40 years. Firmly rooted in the city’s cultural landscape, it provides space for concerts, theatre, dance, parties, readings, slams, comedy, films and experimental projects for up to 450 visitors. External and internal organisers use the hall as a stage for a wide variety of cultural events, creating a diverse programme for a diverse audience.
Organised as a collective, the Grabenhalle is committed to harmonious interaction at the exit and lets the K stand for culture and not for capitalism. With the internal programme group’s own formats, it complements St.Gallen’s nightlife landscape and supports external event organisers in planning and staging their events in the former gymnasium.
The Grabenhalle disapproves of events with a racist, sexist or religious background. Consumption is not compulsory here, you may take drinks with you, but we ask that you dispose of them properly. The manifesto shows the basic attitude of the Grabenhalle.
Around 200 events a year keep the team on their toes. The hall remains closed during the two summer months and the office is available at reduced hours.
